Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, Jack Lemmon, Gene Hackman, Jessica Lange, Ingrid Bergman, Maggie Smith, Jack Nicholson, Helen Hayes and Kevin Spacey became the 10th performers to win Oscars in the lead and supporting acting roles. Kevin Spacey dedicated his Oscar to Jack Lemmon, they had worked together in "Glengarry Glen Ross." Angelina Jolie won her first nomination and award. Jon Voight her dad also won an Oscar and were the second father-daughter pair for receiving an acting Oscar. A married couple had produced the ceremony. Richad D. Zanuck and his wife Lili Fini Zanuck, Lili was the first woman ever to produce the show.
